Graduating from the Hurricanes Program

All good things must come to an end, so when it's time to leave the program, we've got you covered!

Leaving the Program

The Hurricanes Youth Refere Program guides young referees through a pathway designed to help them become strong, confident members of our touch football community.

Once one of our members reaches their Level Four accreditation as a touch football referee, they being on a development pathway that sees them train as an accredited referee coach, and develop their skills as a mentor to other up-and-coming referees.

The Graduation Pathway

1. Exit Review

Together with their mentor, the Hurricanes program coordinator will conduct a review with the youth referee where they can provide and receive feedback based on their experience within the program.

2. Mentor Training

The program coordinator can choose to offer the member an opportunity to commence a learning pathway that will train them as a mentor, and provide them with foundation referee coaching accreditations.

3. Re-Entry

If the graduated referee chooses to, they may re-enter the Hurricanes program as a mentor to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of the program's members.
